MGA Guru Gone Mobile...
Last report had us in Woodstock and Innerkip, Ontario on 24th July. No flies on this MG. We
just did 5,500 miles in the past five weeks (not counting a couple of ferry rides). The short tally list says 8
cars fixed, 15 friends, 9 clubs and 18 shops visited. I won't list them all, as I am trying to condense this
report some, both for space and time allowed, but you can find photos and all the nitty-gritty details on
MGAguru.com.
On July 27 we had a little trouble with the six-month-old gear reduction starter while we were attending a cruise night in
Georgetown, Ontario. It had a couple of screws loose and fell apart, but nothing was lost, and I managed to put it back together.
Next day we had a nice cruise with Niagara British Car Club, followed by another cruise with Victoria British Car Club in Bobcaygeon, ON on the 29th, and a BBQ with Headwaters British Car Club on Aug 1.
We rolled out of Ontario into Quebec on Aug 3, visiting a few friends and a couple of clubs. Most important was François Gay and his MGA in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, QC, as this is the guy who contributed the front fender for a rust repair on my car two years ago. Had a car show on the 5th at Fritz Farm in Baie-D'urfe, QC, including at least a dozen MGs mostly from Montreal MG Car Club. In the next week we were visiting a dozen shops all around the

Montreal metro area. After picking up some car parts I changed rear brake shoes on the
MGA, which turned out to be a lost cause, because new shoes are too small and will not touch the
drums on full adjustment (!@#$&^&*). I recon we now have no parking brake, and maybe
no hydraulic brakes on the rear.

On the 11th we had a BBQ with Montreal MG Car Club in Vaudreuil-sur-le-Lac, QC. A couple days later our MGA was
on a friend's hoist in Hudson, QC for a lube job and undercarriage inspection. This was followed by some minor repairs and
adjustments on an MGA 1600-MK-II. For a couple days following were heavy into planning. On evening of the 16th we were
sitting in Saint Hyacinthe, QC when we got a phone call with an urgent message and set off on a 860 mile trek across New
Brunswick and Nova Scotia. We did stop briefly to visit a couple of friends in New Brunswick, but will have to return to NB and
