Monthly Meeting Minutes November 19, 2018

  CMGC President Dean Hickenlooper opened the meeting at 7:00 pm. Dean welcomed guest Tom Psiharis to the meeting.

  Staff Reports
Finance – Treasurer Phil Wydra noted the club is in good standing and has $6,727.64 in checking and $18,244.63 in savings. The total is $24,972.27.
Library – Bill Mennell – Noted he is looking for past documentation of tours and rallies – route maps, questionnaires, etc. – for the archives.

Staff Elections
President Dean Hickenlooper opened the floor for staff nominations. Jim Compton accepted the nomination for Treasurer, nominated by Bill Kalafut; Phil Wydra was nominated for Vice-President by John Kearns. Existing remaining staff members accepted nominations for their respective positions for another term. Nominations were closed.

Old Business
Salvage Car – Jim Evans noted that there is not much left to salvage. Anyone wanting to pick through the remains, the car will be available for a couple more weeks before heading to salvage.

Car Projects
Dave Bralich informed the members that he would like to put together a transmission teardown sometime in January. More info later.
Phil Wydra worked with Dino to correct an ignition problem that has been intermittent for a while.
Bill Mennell noted that this may not be a project issue but could cause problems. The issue is that he has come across some gas stations are now using 15% ethanol up from 10%. Something to watch out for.

October 13 - Car Care Safety Clinic for Seniors, Lisle, Jim Vondran. – 74 cars inspected. Good turnout by CMGC members for the event. October 28 – Halloween Rally, Phil Wydra November 4- Fall Tune Down, Dave Bralich – Despite the rain, a good turnout. Upcoming Driving/Social Event Schedule (additional details of these events are in this Driveline issue) November 22- Cruise to the Rock, Ann and Jake Snyder December 1- Christmas Party limited to first 80 people to sign up. January 25-27 - Amtrak Trip – This year we will be heading to Kalamazoo Air Zoo and staying at the Hampton Inn. June 23-27 - Diana Gonzales reminded the members that NAMGBR Convention MG2019 will be held in Traverse City, MI Break/ 50:50 raffle – CMGC member Rick Willis was the winner of $24.   New Business Jamie Schafer noted that there will be meetings scheduled to plan the 2019 Driving Events calendar starting in January. Anyone planning an event or would like to know how this is done should attend.   With no further business to discuss, President Dean Hickenlooper closed the meeting at 8:10 pm.
