Monthly Meeting Minutes

CMGC President Dean Hickenlooper opened the meeting at 7:09. No new members or guests were present.
Treasurers’ Report: Jim Compton reported $5,299 in checking and $18,249 in savings, for a total of $23, 548.
Library: Bill Mennell noted there were two new books in the library and reminded members to email him for library requests.
Membership - New Members: Milena Pisano of Naperville IL is looking for a car now; James Pawlowski of Elk Grove Village IL is the owner of a 1975 red MG Midget; and Timothy Guntly of Cherry Valley IL is the owner of a 1970 brg MGB-GT.
Car Projects:
Dave Bralich continued with the engine updates and was working on an electrical issue diagnosed to corrosion in the fuse box.
Victor L’Heureux held a successful Tech Session in his garage where Steve Skegg assisted in identifying problematic area of the garage-stored car of 15 years. Areas of concern were identified and after a few electrical repairs the car was able to be started.
Project Car – Dean noted that the MGA car is at a point to be sold AS-IS. The care is drivable with new brakes and running engine, still much work to be done to make it a road-ready car. Decision on how to sell is to be determine

Doug Clark noted that since Bill Cole passed earlier this year, his two cars are up for sale. A 1952 MG T series and a 1980 MGB are for sale. Pricing has not been determined but his widow would like the cars to be sold to existing club members.
Driving Coordinator: Jamie Schafer provided updates on the most recent events - Halloween Rally, Tune-down session. She had planners give an update on future events - Cruise to the Rock and Amtrak Trip.
Nominations: Dean Hickenlooper accepted the position of Vice-President since there were no other nomination to fill this position, Nominations were closed. Ballots will be sent via US Postal Service in December along with Dues envelopes.
Presentation
Ann Snyder presented a historical overview of the first Automobile Race held on this continent. This event is highlighted with a yearly Cruise to the Rock – a dedicated monument to the starting point of the first race.
Break: 50/50 raffle. Ray Hanson won $55.
New Business
Barney Gaylord questioned the need for modifying the dues structure as presented by the Staff. He presented an alternate plan and made a motion. The motion was not seconded and thus not accepted. Dues structure will remain as posted earlier.
