HELLO 2022!!!!

Are you going to be kind and gentle and full of GOOD CHEER, COVID FREE and HAPPY TIMES?????? From my mouth to God’s ears…..PLEASE SAY IT WILL BE!!!!!

Aside from all the craziness and Covid this past year - I’d say we had a SPECTACULAR 2021 Driving season and made the VERY BEST out of it! We had record-breaking turnouts for our driving events and even managed to once again gather at our monthly meetings - IN PERSON at a NEW Meeting place - Mr. Beef in Mount Prospect!

Although we did not have our Annual Holiday event (it’s actually been 2 years since our last Holiday party), I am here to say we plan on scheduling an “Inaugural” AWARDS BANQUET sometime in March 2022.

Doug Clark, Kerry Hickenlooper and I are currently working on organizing this most EXCITING and anticipated event! After all, I need to present our Moss Motor and British Victoria Trophies, along with other awards that will be presented to 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners!!! Door prizes will be raffled off as well!

Doug Clark will be presenting the award given out for the “CMGC & VMGCC MEMBERS CHOICE AWARD”. He has posted an announcement in last month’s Driveline and the Vintage Viewpoint listing all 10 driving events to vote on.

I encourage EVERYONE to email your vote on your favorite driving event for the 2021 Driving season to Doug Clark at mgtbc@sbcglobal.net.

I am SO looking forward to the 2022 driving events season! Tim just got back his MG Midget from the Body shop (it’s been there since September) It is FRESHLY painted with a HIGH GLOSS MIRROR FINISH in non-other than that BEAUTIFUL PAGEANT BLUE COLOR!! Tim had stripped down the ENTIRE car to an EMPTY shell over most of the summer. He tagged each part, wire, bolt, nut, etc. and stored all the parts in our basements - HIS MAN CAVE! It looks like mechanical and Body shop down there! The Motor and Trans has finally been cleaned off and painted and is now ready to once again take its place in its NEW FRESHLY PAINTED HOME!!! Crunch time - to put the car BACK TOGETHER so we can take it out in time for our driving events!!!! It will SURELY BE A STUNNER when it’s all done and "BLINGED UP"!!!!!

I cannot PLEAD AND BEG ENOUGH for new members and longtime members to STEP UP and host an event. Without our driving events, "car club" ..

Our driving events make us the MOST ACTIVE and EXCITING car clubs around... I want to say - in the Midwest????

NO... I’m going to be PRESUMPTUOUS and say NATIONWIDE!!!!!!

Come on now... let me hear from at least 15 of you by February to get your event on the calendar!!!!!

Tim and I have talked about hosting and organizing a BRAND-NEW event (possibly an overnighter) sometime in July.
