Monthly Column of Driving Events
Hi there, my little MG Leprechauns –
“Dia Dhuit” (greeting’s in Irish Gaelic)
March is truly a GREAT FUN month!!!
It is the first month of spring which begins between March 19-21.
Daylight Savings Time
In the Southern Hemisphere, March is the same as September in the Northern Hemisphere.
The Chicago River gets dyed green
Each year March and June end on the same day of the week.
It is the time of year when animals start to wake up from hibernation.
Daffodils and Tulips start coming up
The Ides of March – Julius Caesar was killed on March 15th
March Madness- basketball tournament played by the NCAA.
Spring Training Baseball begins – another step towards spring!
Easter - sometimes celebrated in March (not this year – it falls on April 12th.)
And MOST IMPROTANT-ST. PATRICKS DAY – When EVERYONE is “Irish”, drinking beer, eating corn beef, sauerkraut & potatoes and looking for the “POT OF GOLD”!!!
How’s that for the month of March fun facts???? So, what does this have to do with driving events?
ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING!!!! Just thought I’d make my article longer since there is not a lot to report this issue!!! LOL!!!!

Mark your calendars for the Spring Tune up taking place on Saturday, April 18th hosted and organized by Bill Mennell.
I am still waiting to confirm when the Volo Museum Tour will take place. I currently have it on the calendar as a tentative date in April, but that is not confirmed as of now. I will keep everyone posted.
All Information and details on these events will be in this month’s driveline.
Looking forward into the month of May, Jim Vondran will be hosting the Car Care Safety Clinic for seniors on Saturday, May 9th. Ric and Nancy Maitzen are planning a GREAT Spring Tour in the Wisconsin Dells Friday May 15th – 17th. The 1st Miata Autocross is tentatively scheduled for Sunday May 17th. This date is not yet confirmed and may change. Doug Clark has once again organized a fun day out at the Lagrange Pet parade on Saturday, May 30th.
There will be more information on these in the upcoming Drivelines.
I will be updating the Driving Events Calendar again next month and will gladly email a copy to anyone who wants it. Please email me at Jamie@jls-industries.com and I will get it out to you.
