The Steering Column
Here it is already the start of the 4th month of the year and to many of us the start of the new driving season. I know, there are almost as many of you out there that drive your cars year round. I have to admit that spring fever has not yet hit me. It is a little late this year in coming but I am not yet ready. I still have car parts all over the garage and two big holes in the bottom of my street B. Hopefully by the time you all are reading this Driveline, I have at least fixed the holes and have started the reassemble procedure. My goal every year is to have the car up and running two weeks before the “Spring Tune-up Party”.
Now that I have mentioned the Tune-up party (my official start of summer). I would like to point out that we now have the rest of the year’s calendar finalized. Between the CMGC events and my first year of Vintage wheel-to-wheel racing I am not sure if I have any free weekends. What a wonderful way to spend the summer. I don’t think I have been this excited about Summer coming since grade school and I couldn’t wait for school to end. One of the things that I enjoy about this time of year, is meeting up with old friends and creating new ones. I have met so many people over the course of the last few years. For those of you that are not very active in the group, please start coming to more of the events. I know from experience that “More is Better”.
To help bring more of you into our activities. I am inviting all of you to come to our next monthly meeting. We now are having a program each and every month, thanks to Ray Glorioso. This last month we had a very nice turn out and I want to see it grow. There will be some growing pains along the way (like noise) but with patience and help this club should add to everyone’s MG enjoyment year round. I hope to meet every one of you at some (or many) of our events this year. Till then: “Safety Fast” to all of you.
