I am pleased to announce that we have now met our goal in the area of managing the membership processing function. We have drawn together several activities from previous years and added some new ones to create a program that can be followed easily in following years.

In the area of recruiting new members, we have established these procedures:
1) Send membership recruiting flyers to all existing members for use when meeting other MG owners
2) Encourage members to attend general interest car shows to showcase their MG’s in order to perk interest in MG ownership
3.) Affiliate with NAMGAR in order to attract MGA enthusiasts to the club

In the area of membership retention, we have established these procedures:
1) Purchased a software package designed for membership maintenance
2) Designed a program of three dues notice reminders, to include a self-addressed envelop and a final notice letter
3) Initiated a program of phone calls to non-renewals to ensure that their decision was not an oversight and to determine reason for non-renewal
4) Evaluated the longstanding program of extending mid-year new memberships through the following year and restricted this to be 4th quarter new memberships only

Also, new members now receive a welcome packet and a personal phone call from our membership chairman inviting them to the next meeting or upcoming event. My thanks to Victor L’Heureux for his enthusiastic efforts in the membership area.
