MG Parts Donated to Club
The CMGC recently received a group of MG parts as a donation from one of our members. These are mostly used parts (or stripped from parts cars) and are mostly MGB parts with a few “T-type” items included. The donor, who has restored several MG’s over the years, has requested anonymity. This donation was made with the intent of benefiting the club, so here’s the plan: Beginning in September, we will bring groups of these parts to the club meeting in order to conduct a “silent auction”. Any member present will have the opportunity to bid on any item, but you must be present to bid. High bidder will get the item that night. Items not sold this autumn at club meetings will probably go to a club booth at next February’s Swap Meet, or may be marketed on the internet. The extent of items has not yet been inventoried, but included are several trunk lids and doors, two transmissions, SU carburetors and much more. If you need a certain part, call Jim Evans up to the Sunday before the meeting and we may be able to find it in the batch and bring it to the meeting.
