MINUTES FOR MEETING
April 21, 2003

    The meeting was called to order by Bill Mennell at 8:00. There were 37 members in attendance. The members attending for the first time were Rick and Mary Tackett, ’77B, Joe Blunk, ’74B, and Bob Moreau, ‘59MGA..

OLD BUSINESS

Mike Hirsch     Holiday Party, Bill Mennell is still looking for a location. If you have any suggestions, please contact Bill. We are looking for a place that can accommodate 60-75 people.
    Budget Update, Bill Hedrick states that total income will be in the $2-3000 range. The budget for the year will be on our website shortly.
    Driving Program Rules, Dave Lieb said that there are some changes in the rules for the coming year. The goal is to increase participation and fairness. The entire rules swill be posted on the website in the Driver’s corner.
    Missouri Endurance Rally, Wade Keene reported that 28 cars were in attendance including three entries from our club. Wade Keene with his father, Paul Urquhart with Steve Merical and Bill Hedrick with Kim Tonry.
    4/12 MGA Frame Tech Session was held at Barney Gauylord’s. The right side of an MGA frame was pushed in slightly and returned to the correct shape.
    4/13 was our Spring Tune Up party. 29 people and 18 cars attended. For the first time in several years, no surprises were found. Afterward’s lunch was at Kerry Piper’s a traditional Irish Pub.
    4/19 we held an MGB Rear End Rebuild Tech Session at Hal’s. For a total cost of $20 of parts and $40 of food, he repaired his rear end clunk Librarian, Howard Turk, reported on the library.

NEW BUSINESS

    Free MGA parts car available in Rockford. Contact Bill Mennell for details. (already gone)
    Paul Urquhart will be hosting our Spring Tour on 4/27.
    Bob Simon will host a Z-S carb tech session. They will test emissions, rebuild the carb and retest.
    Our annual Spring Chicken rally will be on 5/4 starting at 11:00. Check our web site for further details.
    The weekend of 5/23-25 will be the Champagne British Car Festival.
    We are invited to the Healy Club Gymkhana in Warrenville on 5/25. 8:00 am registration and the first car off at 9:00.
    Kim Tonry talked about the upcoming NAMGBR convention on 6/18-22 b St. Louis. Our club will be sponsoring a hospitality suite in conjunction with Moss Motors.
    Tom Josefek reported on the upcoming Lands End Rally on June 8th. The difference this year will be that it is a one day event starting at the Welcome Center at the Wisconsin border and ending in Marengo.
    Our annual Abingdon weekend will be 8/15-17. Same hotel different name. It is now a Best Western.
    The 50/50 raffle was won by Russ Fitch, $24 and an old MG ad was won by Dave Ransome.
    A program was put on by Dave Lieb, “What I need to Rally?”
