OLD BUSINESS
Shirley Goebbert reported on the 2002 NAMGBR convention held in Dallas. She and Roger as well as Diane and Oscar Gonzalez represented our club. There were about 150 cars in attendance. The largest showing was the Emerald Necklace club which had 13 cars. Overcoming their modesty, the Goebberts admitted to winning two awards. They received recognition for attending all 11 meetings as well as 1st in class for their MGB.
Dave Lieb reported on his Flying Low Rally. A disappointingly low 3 cars attended. All checkpoints were Chicagoland airports. Dave is also running the Abingdon trials which will have a similar format.
Dave Mullis gave the Treasurer’s report. We began the year with $5200 in the treasury and after receipts and expenses we currently have $8600.
NEW BUSINESS
The Road Ameria camping trip was reported by Jake Snyder. As always, it promises to be a fun weekend with the race, auto auction, and concours judging.
The upcoming Abingdon weekend was discussed by Jim Evans. The Triple M Registry is having their convention in conjunction with the weekend. It is a nice opportunity to see many classic MG’s from the past. Currently, there are 68 rooms reserved. The famous Gymkhana will be held Saturday afternoon following the auto show in the morning. For more information, or if you are having trouble finding a room, please contact Jim. For those interested, on Friday a caravan will be leaving at 10:00 from the Amoco station as Rts 47 and 34.
The Midsummer Rally will be held August 5th. Driver’s meeting at 10:30, first car off at 11:00. It will be leaving from the Denny’s restaurant at Golf and Roselle in Hoffman Estates.
The Lucas Night Rally will be held August 31.
The British Car Fest will be September 8th. We need volunteers to help, please contact Dave Bralich.

Howard Turk updated us on the library.
Dave Bralich is planning a tech session July 28th at his home at 11:00 AM. He will be replacing the rear leaf springs on his MGB.
Earl Ransom won the 50/50 raffle in the amount of $23.00
A short video presentation on last year’s British Car Fest completed the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:10.
Respectufully submitted, Mike Hirsch
