Collision Repair Tech Session
October 5, 2002
There was a body straightening tech session held at the home of Kim Tonry in Downers Grove on October 5th. The subject was a 1972 MGB with front end damage including inner and outer fender, nose, grille, bumper, bonnet, radiator cowling. It was a good opportunity for a hands-on trial or observation of the use of the body straightening hydraulic tool kit which was recently donated to the club by Dennis Trowbridge. The tool consists of a hand operated hydraulic pump, a medium stroke hydraulic cylinder, and a variety of length and end attachments. It also has a powerful set of spreader fingers. This is another nice addition to the club tool crib which may help you to set things straight with your MG. Results will depend on how creative you are when push comes to shove (pun intended).
